TAA TN State Championship

March 2022

Archery is a simple game, it's the mind that complicates it.

And just like that, M-Archery Madness (coined by a parent) came to an end. I filled a lot of shoes this weekend. Tournament Director, Coach, Athlete. I'm so proud of how this weekend came together. 55 Archers shot this weekend. Of those 55, 27 were students of mine. Nearly double our participation from 2021 and the whole weekend went smoothly!

As Tournament Director: Huge Thank You to all those who helped me make this Tournament a success. From Avery Superstore for graciously blocking off the range for 3 days to the staff who came in on their day off to the coaches who helped run the event. I couldn't have done it without you. To the athletes, Thank You for participating!

As Coach: this was the first Tournament ever for many of my students. Words cannot express how PROUD I am of each one. They all came out, brought positive attitudes with them, and had a blast. It made my heart so happy.

As Athlete: I finished the weekend with a 268/300 with 12x. Sadly, this was not the score I was anticipating but it's at least on par with what I've shot in years past. With that said, I competed under heavy mental and physical fatigue from coaching and managing the event the previous 3 days. Once you combine all those together, I'm impressed and proud of the fact that I hit my average score.
