NFAA Indoor Nationals
March 2022
"Keep practicing," he told her. "Until I get it right?" She asked. But he corrected her, " Until you cannot get it wrong."
An archer's prayer is that our aim be true and our arrows fly straight. That was certainly the case for everyone at the 2022 NFAA Indoor National Championships in Louisville, KY this weekend.
I'm exceptionally proud of my two young students and my youngest sister who competed in their first major archery tournament. They came out with positive attitudes and shot superbly on the first day despite experiencing major first day nerves and jitters. They then proceeded to get up super early Sunday morning to shoot a second set of 60 arrows!
John finished 8th out of 10 in the Barebow Cub Male Division
Cohen finished 22nd out of 26 in the Bowhunter Freestyle Young Adult Male Division
Hannah finished 19th out of 19 in the Freestyle Limited Recurve Adult Female Division
As for myself, I shot a personal best of 547/600 with 20x and wound up placing 9th out of 19 (same Division as Hannah). First time I've shot this event without having any major form breakdowns or mechanical issues. It was some really stiff competition for the top 10 shooters, top female shot a 597/600, so I am exceedingly proud of my finish. Seriously considering the possibility of shooting more indoor events until I can shoot outdoor again.
